Abstract

The instrument, illustrated in figure I and described in this paper, was constructed to estimate the amounts of windblown sodium chloride. The total amount of salt trapped by the instrument is measured by a chemical analysis of the chloride content of an aliquot. Other methods of analysis, either chemical or physical, can be used for determining the total salt content of the sample.
