Abstract

We investigated, theoretically and experimentally, a type of anti-blue-light filter with photonic heterostructures composed of multiple all-dielectric photonic crystals (PCs). In the blue light range, the photonic bandgaps of different PCs are designed to be located in different incident angle regions so that the photonic heterostructures composed of multiple different PCs have high reflection properties over a wide range of incidence. We found that this type of photonic heterostructure is polarization-insensitive. The experimental results were in good agreement with the theoretical values.
