Librarian support of entrepreneurs: Reflections on information synthesis

Abstract

This paper explores the critical interplay between entrepreneurial decision-making and information synthesis, offering actionable insights for librarians aiming to support entrepreneurial success. Entrepreneurs synthesize information from diverse sources, including library resources, primary research like customer interviews, and personal experience, to create outputs such as business models and plans. This paper explores the role of librarians and secondary research in fostering entrepreneurs’ skills in organizing and synthesizing information from varied sources. By integrating insights from library and entrepreneurship research, the paper highlights how secondary research and librarians enhance information synthesis capabilities.
