Abstract

The outstanding performance and low residue level of the co-current reactor gasifier make it a viable approach. Although it can only be used for low moisture biomass, and improvements are required by integrating adjustments in reactor configuration, feeding method, equivalence ratio, air supply method, and gasification temperature, biomass feeding rate, recirculation methodology and co-gasification. This paper aims to review the co-current gasifier for biomass gasification that emphasizes on design enhancements and their impact on the co-current gasifier efficiency. Overall overview reveals that apart from biomass characteristics and operation parameters, the gasifier configuration is a vital parameter in gasification.
