Abstract

This paper presents a review of the Demand-Side Management mechanism proposed for some utilities for residential load management. Also, this paper shows some Smart Appliances applications and Home Energy Management strategies developed and shown by some authors in the available literature that could be adequate strategies for improving Demand Respond inside the Smart Home context. Also, it is shown how Home Energy Management based on different Demand-Side Management strategies, could reduce peak load demand and save costs of power for end-users. Finally, the conclusions are presented.
