Abstract

This study was accomplished in the Paguyuban Pasundan environment in February 2022. The research model was observational analytic with a prospective cohort approach using primary data samples taken from Google Form as a medium for filling out questionnaires with a simple random sampling. Afterwards, the data was gathered and processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 26.0. The respondents in this study were 119 persons who were all members of the Paguyuban Pasundan. The vaccines 1 and 2 received by the respondents were Sinovac, the vaccines 3 were AstraZeneca. The side effects arising from booster vaccination using AstraZeneca vaccine were dominated by local side effects such as pain at the injection site on shoulder (56%), injection site soreness (56%), followed by systemic side effects like muscle aches throughout the body (28.5%), fever (27%), and headache (25.2%). The results of the independent t-test revealed a probability value of 0.001 (<0.05). This can be inferred that there are significant differences in local and systemic side effects. Thus, it can be concluded that local side effects are reported more often than systemic side effects. Keywords: Booster, COVID-19, side-effects, vaccine
