Abstract

Twelve enzyme systems were investigated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in a population of diploid sexual Taraxacum hybrids. The genetic basis of isozyme bands was found by analysis of progeny phenotype segregation. Nine monomorphic and seven polymorphic loci were identified. Esterase isozymes could not be assigned to single Mendelian genes. The high level of heterozygosity found is related to the breeding system of the population. © The Genetical Society of Great Britain.
