Abstract

Incidents of circulating rice containing chemicals (chlorine) for bleaching in the market from procurement of irresponsible parties still occur. Usually occurs when there is a disturbance in the supply of rice from the government, changes in economic conditions that affect the market and or even deliberate trade syndicates to reap as much profit as possible. Before deciding the type of rice with more specific research, it is necessary to detect the initial characteristics of the rice with an approach in terms of color (image). With a histogram for image extraction by including white paper which is used to determine the effect of environmental color interference on the captured sample. So that the original RGB pixel value matrix is obtained without the influence of environmental color interference, this RGB pixel data is then converted to HSV. With backpropagation Artificial Neural Networks to identify types of rice including Milled, Premium, Raskin and Bleach rice. The identification target result is 85% both from training and testing.
