Abstract

Parmelia lindsayana Øvstedal & Elix from Signy Island (South Orkney Islands) is described as new. This species resembles P. protosulcata Hale and P. cunninghamii Crombie, but differs in morphological details and in containing usnic, α-collatolic and alectoronic acids.
