The present article reviews peculiarities as to the manifestations and evolutions in conditions such as infections, malnutrition, urinary incontinence, behavioral disorders and immobitility. Individuals are placed in long-term care facilities that require permanent evaluation and attention from the multi-disciplinary team specialized in this type of care.
