Abstract

It is noted that the number of industrial applications based on fuzzy theory has been rapidly increasing in Japan. These applications are demonstrated, and the fundamentals of fuzzy control theory are discussed. Other fuzzy topics in Japan are also introduced, including a project directed by the Science and Technology Agency and the Japan Society for Fuzzy Theory and Systems.
