Abstract
In this paper, it is proved that the energy of the one-dimensional linear thermoelastic system with the commonly used natural boundary conditions decays exponentially when the gradient of the initial displacement, the initial velocity, and the initial temperature distribution are all the L2 functions. © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
