Abstract
Forest plantation development becomes an alternative for sufficient supply of raw material for forest industry, especially for high economic value timber tree species such as Shorea leprosula Miq. Utilization of high quality seed is needed to improve forest plantation development with high productivity. This research was conducted to analyze growth of S. leprosula Miq. from different mother tree of Gunung Bunga West Kalimantan in the nursery of Dipterocarp Research Center Samarinda. The method used in this research was Completely Randomized Design with mother tree as the treatment and it has three replications. The study result showed that the highest germination percentage, growth of height and diameter of seedlings were produced from mother tree number 7. Otherwise, the lowest germination percentage, smallest growth of height and diameter of seedlings were produced from each mother tree number 1, 4 and 5. Statistically, the germination percentage, the height and diameter growth from different mother tree are significantly different.
