Abstract
Medical disaster management must be able to make the transition from "stan-dard of care" to "suffciency of care" in evidence based ways. Medical disaster management research tries to identify methodologies and rules of best practice and evaluates performance and outcome indicators for medical disaster management. However, experimental studies are either impossible or ethically inappropriate. The aim of the SIMEDIS project is the develoment of a simulation model so that the "medical disaster management simulator" can reproduce the missing experimental studies.
