Abstract

The molecular pathophysiology of hypertension is probably like a jigsaw puzzle of different but overlapping sets of factors and pathways that vary from one patient or one group of patients to another. Mitochondrial and metabolic abnormalities could be crucial pieces of this puzzle. © 2011 International Society of Nephrology.
