Abstract

Rates of incident end-stage renal disease persist above established goals, driving efforts for early identification of chronic kidney disease (CKD) to reduce progression. The detection of CKD using existing electronic data sources has been proposed as an efficient identification method; however, this method is not without potential challenges and limitations. © 2007 International Society of Nephrology.
