Abstract
Preschool children are children aged four to six years, where children at this time have reached maturity in various motor functions followed by intellectual and socio-emotional development. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2012 stated that there were 11 causes of death for children under five years of age in Indonesia, where diarrhea was ranked eighth. In the world, diarrhea nearly reaches 1.3 million deaths per year for children under five years, which causes diarrhea to be the second leading cause of death for children worldwide (UNICEF, 2009). In Indonesia, diarrhea kills about 6% of the total number of children in Indonesia (WHO, 2012). The purpose of this community service is to increase PAUD students' knowledge about 6 steps of washing hands and children can practice it in their daily life. Activities carried out in the form of health education about washing hands 6 steps, the benefits of washing hands, and demonstrating about washing hands 6 steps. The activity was carried out on December 16, 2019 at 09.00 to 12.00 WIB. The results of community service were obtained that 68% of children had good knowledge and 32% of children had poor knowledge of washing their hands.
