Abstract

Examined are problems faced in Bible translation where a desire to provide inclusive (nonsexist) lang must be counterbalanced by adherence to the content of the original texts. Factors affecting this issue include: biblical culture & langs, modern langs & cultures, & the translation process itself. It is shown that many M-dominated features of traditional translations are unnecessary. Some particularly difficult cases are examined, & some translation guidelines are presented. B.
