Abstract
While existing literature points to an interest in the bereavement of relatives of patients with rare diseases, there is a lack of research on the grief and mourning processes of children. This article reflects on child bereavement, and considers the concept of death for a child who is confronted with a rare disease. We also discuss the difficulties of arriving at a final diagnosis, as well as bioethical conflicts related to the right to health and life.
