Abstract

The present status of hyperthermia for cancer treatment was presented. The site and size of the tumor determine the thermal modality employed. Non-invasive thermometry, the definition of thermal dose, and the one-dimensional temperature profile are discussed. In a one-patient study (with controls) a 66 percent tumor regression with combined heat and radiation was noted.
