Abstract

Necking is a very common phenomenon in uniaxial tensile experiments. It is particularly prominent in materials with high-stress levels. It can be considered a deformation destabilization phenomenon or a localized concentration of deformation. The occurrence of this phenomenon can lead to the failure of the stress-strain curve of the material. Therefore, this paper will examine the problem of stress-strain curve correction in uniaxial tension for materials with high levels of yield stress. Due to the high-stress levels in this class of materials, the material quickly undergoes necking after entering yield, resulting in distorted stress-strain curves. Sometimes, there is not even enough information to fit the intrinsic parameters. In this paper, the real mechanical response of such materials is inverted according to the finite element method to correct the stress-strain curve of the material.
