The basic requirement to enterprises of the textile industry of Serbia for survival and competitiveness increas in the domestic market and foreign market penetration is, primarily, the creation of competent personnel which will allow the sustainable development of the textile industry with their expertise, qualifications, knowledge, qualities, abilities, specificities and skills. The factors that affect thedevelopment and training of human resources, with emphasis on the role of the company's management to prepare staff for the current and future needs of the company are considered in the paper. Also, the results of cooperation with international organizations in the education staff of the textile industry in Serbia are presented.
