Abstract

In batch concentration in pharmaceutical production processes, it is very important to predict the changes of state variables during concentration and to select optimal operating conditions. Therefore, the authors introduced a simulation method for the operation. To confirm the applicability of the method, reactors of three kinds, with different volumes and solvents, were used in experimental combinations. Good agreement was obtained between experimental results and calculated results, and it was confirmed that the method can be used to optimize the operation. © 1988, The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan.
