Abstract

We consider a certain type of rate independent elastoplastic constitutive laws for nonlinear kinematic hardening which include the models of Frederick-Armstrong, Bower and Mróz. We prove results concerning existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence for the stress-strain evolution considered as a function of time (but not of space). As an auxiliary result, we also prove a theorem concerning the Lipschitz continuity of the vector play operator. © Elsevier, Paris.
