Abstract

The structure of a new lignan glucoside isolated from the stem of Olea europaea Linn. (Oleaceae) was elucidated as (+)-1-acetoxy-pinoresinol-4’-β-D-glucoside [(1S,2R,5R,6S)-1-acetoxy-2 - (3’-methoxy-4’- hydroxyphenyl) -6- (3 ”methoxy -4“- hydroxyphenyl) -3,7- dioxabi-cyclo[3,3,0]octane 4’β-D-glucopyranoside] by analysis of the carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance and circular dichroism spectra. © 1979, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
