Abstract

The elastic properties of conventional and auxetic foams were investigated. The auxetic foams exhibited lower Young's moduli compared to the conventional foams. The compressive Young's modulus of the conventional foam was about twice that of the auxetic foam in the small strain region and in the linear elastic region due to the differences in the cellular structure of the foams.
