Asian elephant population estimates and distribution: 1999 update

Abstract

This article is essentially a map illustrating minimum and maximum populations for each range state circa 1995. It is largely based on information presented in the 1995 edition of the African Elephant Database and updated with figures given by Douglas-Hamilton and Michelmore.
