Abstract

This article offers a series of reflections on the relationships between the arts, especially between music and plastic arts, and underlines the need to promote cultural legacies at all educational levels. A variety of backgrounds are taken into account, and some proposals are offered that, without distorting musical teaching (which must be in charge of a teacher with sufficient musical training and knowing appropriate teaching methodologies), could be developed, with the necessary prudence, by a generalist teacher. It should be borne in mind that, currently, in the initial training of teachers in Spain, the curricula that implement the different universities are not the same. However, in all of them, you can find some subjects that offer an initial training in fine arts and music, which try to provide the development of epistemological, technical and didactic competences. The weight of these subjects in curricula is likely to be relatively low for such high goals. For this reason, this article also presents some examples of experencies that could contribute to the linkage between the arts, through eminently practical activities, but with a theoretical basis, which can lead to deepening in some elements of the artistic languages involved and in the presence of symbols that appear repeatedly in the history of the arts.
