Abstract

The author comments on a paper about human political behavior, by Plumm and colleagues, published in previous issue. He commends Plumm and colleagues for showing the strength of certain cultural memes at a given point in time. He considers the authors' claims that one needs to understand why some participants might not value certain outcomes if discounting is to be used in the study of public or social policies.
