Kompetensi guru Pesantren Muadalah perspektif KH. Imam Zarkasyi

Abstract

This study analyzed the thoughts of KH Imam Zarkasyi about the competence of muadalah teachers. With a literature study approach through the books he wrote, the book Gontor Merintis Modern Pesantren, the book KH Imam Zarkasyi in the Eyes of the People, and other books related to KH Imam Zarkasyi's thoughts, the data was collected. The results of this study found that the competence of muadalah teachers in KH Imam Zarkasyi's thought is the soul of the teacher himself. The most important thing in the pesantren environment is not the subject but the soul of the pesantren, which can be felt by the students. The competencies that teachers must have are good teaching methods, because the method is more important than the lesson itself (pedagogical competence), noble character, avoiding bad behavior, and being able to be an example in their behavior or attitude (personality competence). A teacher must also master the language in accordance with the teaching material, speak fluently (social competence), and enjoy reading various books so that they have mastery of the material (professional competence).AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji pemikiran tokoh KH. Imam Zarkasyi tentang kompetensi guru muadalah. Dengan pendekatan studi Pustaka melalui kitab-kitab yang dikarangnya, buku Gontor Merintis Pesantren Modern, buku KH Imam Zarkasyi di Mata Umat, dan buku-buku terkait pemikiran KH. Imam Zarkasyi lainnya data dikumpulkan. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kompetensi guru muadalah dalam pemikiran KH. Imam Zarkasyi adalah jiwa guru itu sendiri. Hal yang paling utama dalam lingkungan pesantren bukanlah mata pelajaran melainkan jiwa pesantren itu, yang dapat dirasakan oleh para santri. Kompetensi yang harus dimiliki guru adalah metode mengajar yang baik, karena metode itu lebih penting dari pada pelajaran itu sendiri (kompetensi pedagogik), akhlak mulia, terhindar dari perilaku yang buruk, serta mampu menjadi contoh dalam perilaku ataupun sikapnya (kompetensi kepribadian). Seorang guru pun harus menguasai bahasa yang sesuai dengan materi ajar, berbicara dengan fasih (kompetensi sosial), dan senang membaca beragam buku sehingga memiliki penguasaan materi (kompetensi profesional).
