Abstract

The research presented in this paper concerns the development of a methodology for monitoring and continuous performance improvement in product development process. The proposed approach is derived from the classical Deming cycle adapted to a real industrial environment. The approach consists of four phases: Monitor, Analysis, Action and Review (MAAR). Through application of the MAAR approach, solution for the problems with the DMS were able to be achieved. This paper contributes in terms of practical application of the MAAR approach to continuous improvement in component selection process, a sub-process in product design stage.
