Abstract

A survey of specimens and literature was conducted to determine the distribution expansion process of Anomala albopilosa(Hope)in Japan. In the 1950s, the estimated distribution area of A. albopilosa included the Kinki region and the regions west of the Kinki region. Subsequently, A. albopilosa expanded its distribution to encompass eastern Japan, extending to certain areas of the Tohoku region. Furthermore, we estimated the potential future distribution expansions of A. albopilosa by employing the species distribution model MaxEnt and leveraging data from BIOME, a citizen-based biodiversity data platform. Our findings indicate possible expansion into Yamagata and Akita Prefectures. Conversely, the likelihood of A. albopilosa establishment in Iwate Prefecture, Aomori Prefecture, and Hokkaido appears low under the current environmental conditions.
