Abstract
This study aims to design, develop, and test the feasibility of letter cards to solve learning problems. Based on the results of the preliminary study, it was found that the teacher only used pictures and a series of alphabets written on the blackboard or affixed to the side of the classroom as wall decorations. Not only that, teachers also use markers and blackboards in the learning process, even though students in lower grades really need media that can be manipulated so that it can lead to direct experience for students. From the results of the identification and analysis of the problem then followed up by designing media in the form of letter cards as a solution in early reading learning. This study uses a design based research (DBR) method using a qualitative approach and data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects in this study were grade I students at SDN 1 Sukamanah. This product is designed using the Corel Draw X7 application. This research produces a product in the form of letter cards that have been tested for feasibility by looking at the results of observation and validation. This letter card product contains interesting letters and pictures so that it is suitable for use in grade I elementary school and gets a positive response from teachers and elementary school students.
