Abstract
Suggests that J. W. Donahoe et al (see record 84-25363) add the motivative environmental variables (EOs) of food deprivation and temperature reduction to their neural network model. It is argued that reinforcement selects environment-behavior relations involving environmental stimuli and EOs. If traditional S-R theorists were to allow differential motivative variables to have differential effects on behavior, then the behavior-analytic and the S-R positions would be essentially the same.
