Valeur Morphologique de la Lame Maxillaire Chez les Hemiptera; Remarques Phylogénétiques

Abstract

The Tettigometridae maxillary and probably sensory pit is described from scanning electron microscopy and histological slides. Although it appears to be a little different from its description in Cicadomorpha Cicadellidae (Evans, 1973), it is undoubtedly homologous. Its various positions on the head capsule in Fulgoromorpha show that the maxillary sulcus cannot be homologous with the subgenal sulcus of others Pterygota. These observations agree the parietal theory of Parsons (1964) which consider that the maxillary plate have a genal-postgenal non appendicular origin. The occurrence of the maxillary sensory pit, related for the first time in Coleorhyncha, suggests some phylogenetic remarks on the Hemiptera.
