Abstract

Synthesis of nanocrystals that exhibit strong upconversion (UC) luminescence upon infrared excitation has been challenging due to the stringent control needed over experimental variables. Herein, we report a method to synthesize nanocrystals demonstrating high UC at room temperature in aqueous solution on graphene. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2011.
