The intracellular aminopeptidases that process antigenic epitopes have been recently shown to be valid targets for eliciting cell-mediated antitumor immune responses. Here, we discuss the recent development of potent, low molecular weight inhibitors of these enzymes and how such compounds may constitute a promising tool for cancer immunotherapy. © 2014 Landes Bioscience.
