Abstract

The article presents an overview of cultural and historical factors and features of the development of piano music in China based on the identification of internal logic in the development of Chinese instrumental art from antiquity to the present. Historical information about the development of traditional Chinese music is focused on the reasons for the emergence of public interest in certain musical instruments and their significance in the development of musical thinking and types of instrumental style of performance. Special attention is paid to the multi­ethnic nature of the origins of the instrumental style of thinking of Chinese composers who contributed to the piano music of China. The article has the character of “preliminary reflections” on the development and understanding of piano music “in the Chinese style” in order to raise further research questions in line with the development of a model of pedagogical guidance for the process of mastering Chinese piano music by future musicians­teachers in Russian universities.
