Abstract

The compositions or the compounds CoAs2, CoSb2, RhP2, RhAs2, RhSb2, alpha-RhBi2, IrP2, IrAs2, and IrSb2 are shown to be 1:2.00 by means of X-ray diffraction and density measurements. None of the compounds has an appreciable range of homogeneity. The CoSb2 type crystal structure has been verified in these phases, and new positional parameters are given for CoAs2, rhP2, RhAs2, IrP2, and IrAs2. The compounds have diamagnetic susceptibilities.
