Abstract
Positive surgical margin (PSM) after prostatectomy for pT2 prostate cancer vary throughout the United States. We used the National Cancer Database and determined that patient, hospital, and cancer-specific factors contributed 2.3%, 3.9%, and 15.6% of PSM variation, respectively; 84.8% of PSM variation are because of nononcological factors, which represent addressable factors in efforts to improve patient outcome.
