Abstract

This paper presents the results of the research on identifying and shaping key success factors in project management in the basic units of local self-government in Poland. The article assumes that there is a relationship between project maturity and the excellence of project management. These relationships were verified between these factors and the levels of project management maturity of the units, which allowed to determine the factors that have a significant impact on the maturity level of project management in organization. The study is based 011 research conducted among 1900 basic units of local self-government in Poland. General findings and conclusions were based on quantitative results derived from standardized questionnaire with unit scale questionnaire obtained from research procedure.
