DIRECT DESIGN OF COLUMNS SUBJECTED TO COMBINED LOADING.

Abstract

In the graphical analysis presented, the member properties and all the provisions of the AISC Specification are incorporated. All the information necessary for designing wide-flange steel columns subjected to either axial or combined loads is contained in the various graphs and tables. Although this paper is applied to A36 grade, W14 steel columns only, similar graphs and tables may be developed for designing other types and series of columns.
