Abstract
The aim of this paper is to identify the macroeconomic factors that contribute to the closure of companies in Peru. To achieve this objective, statistical regressions were carried out by applying the ordinary least squares method to panel data corresponding to all 24 departments. The results indicate that business mortality tends to increase inversely to the growth rate of the gross domestic product, and directly to the rate of inflation, the degree of openness to foreign trade, financial credit, and the tax burden.
