Abstract
A twenty-nine year old male revealed initial symptoms of exophthalmus, diplopia and palpebral ptosis with rapidly developing blindness in the left eye. In this case, the pseudotumor had invaded from the orbit into the ethmoid cells with destruction of the orbital lamina of the left ethmoid bone. Exploratory surgery was performed from the route of maxillary and ethomoidal sinuses. The histopathology revealed an inflammatory pseudotumor of the orbit. Treatment with steroids, antibiotics and decompression surgery was effective. The visual acuity of the left eye, however, was not restored. © 1979, The Society of Practical Otolaryngology.
