Abstract

The glymphatic system (GS) is a paravascular pathway located between the vascular adventitia and vascular astrocytic end-feet. It is responsible for clearing toxic peptides from the cerebral parenchyma1,2. This paravascular clearance system was named glymphatic system due to the fusion of the words “glial” and “lymphatic” since its very existence depends on glial cells and also because of its functional similarity with the peripheral lymphatic system1
