Abstract

As a composite of language form and function, lexical chunks indicate the positive interaction of semantics, syntax and pragmatics to promote further development of language utterances. The theory of lexical chunks is popular for college English teachers to adopt in their classes. Based on theories of lexical chunks and lexical approach, this paper aims to discover the effective way for the College English classes in China so as to improve students' language proficiency. © 2012 ACADEMY PUBLISHER Manufactured in Finland.
