Abstract

The present work proposes to study the concrete determinations of feminicide, as a social phenomenon, in Brazil with particularity for João Pessoa-PB. Feminicide stands out as the maximum expression of the violence committed against women. It is inherent in the patriarchal culture historically intrinsic to Brazilian society, expressly reaching thousands of women daily and presenting alarming rates, even with the force of Law 13.104 / 2015, which criminalizes this typology of misogynistic violence. However, it is emphasized that the Law will only be successful with Public Policies that prioritize the confrontation of gender violence by the states. The work deals with results of bibliographic research based on field research and statistical surveys. The aim is to analyze the profiles of the feminicides and the specifications of the crimes of femicides by using the legal records of feminicides deprived of their liberty, present in the archives of the maximum security penitentiaries Desembargador Sílvio Porto and Criminalist Geraldo Beltrão, both located in the city of João Pessoa -PB.
