Abstract

The key is mainly based on characters of the cxosporium. Pteridium aquilinum has a deciduous exosporium. Divergent descriptions in the earlier literature may be caused by the use of unripe material or by obscurities in the taxonomy. © 1974 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
