Abstract

Currently, the enhancement of transdermal drug has been used by physiotherapists through the phonoforesis which consists in the therapeutic ultrasound (US) use in the drug molecules migration of through the skin. However, the US can shows oxidative effects, and is used, for example, in chemical reactions acceleration and in organic compound contaminated systems clean. The present study aimed to perform the electrochemical and spectrophotometric evaluation of rutin solutions submitted to therapeutic US applications. It has been used techniques as cyclic voltammetry, amperometric analysis, pH, conductivity, open circuit potential, as well as spectrophotometry UV/Vis to evaluate this system. From the study done, it has been verified that there was a possible degradation of the rutin molecules, when subjected to US treatment in continuous and pulsed modes 5%, both with 1.5 Wcm-² intensity
