Abstract

We studied the long-term survival of patients who recovered from pneumococcal pneumonia. Mortality was increased for up to 10 years after documented pneumococcal pneumonia and was greater in proportion to the PORT score at admission and among persons who had bacteremic disease. © 2013 Published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the Infectious Diseases Society of America 2013.
